Classic Eyelash Extensions

What are classic eyelash extensions?
Classic eyelash extensions are individual extensions placed one by one onto the client’s natural lashes. A full set of classic eyelash extensions can help enhance the natural lashes by adding length and density of each natural lash.
What do classic eyelash extensions look like?
Classic eyelash extensions will look different based on each individual’s natural lashes. The fullness of the lashes will vary based on the amount of natural lashes the client has. Eyelash extension length can also vary based on what the client wants and what is best suited for their natural lashes as to not cause any damage from excessive weight.
How long do classic eyelash extensions last?
Classic eyelash extensions can last up to 3 weeks before needing a fill. It is recommended all clients book a fill every 2 or 3 weeks and this will vary from client to client based on how fast their natural lashes grow. Our natural lashes go through growth cycles and as the lash reaches its last cycle, it will shed, and a new natural lash will grow in. To maintain the look of your full set of classic eyelash extensions, you will need to be returning every 2-3 weeks to replace those lashes that have shed. Anything past 3 weeks is abnormal and is typically too long to wait for getting a classic lash extension fill.
How long does a full set of classic eyelash extensions take?
Classic eyelash extensions take approximately 2 hours to apply a full set and between 1-1.5 hours for a refill. Providing a quality set of classic extensions means that we individually apply an extension to each of your natural lashes. Doing this takes time and should not be rushed.
How are classic eyelash extensions applied?
Classic eyelash extensions are applied to the natural lashes using a specially formulated adhesive. Specially designed fine point tweezers are used to carefully separate the natural lashes, one by one, to apply an individual extension to each natural lash. Classic extensions are always a 1 to 1 ratio; 1 natural lash gets 1 lash extension.
FAQ
Can you put mascara on classic eyelash extensions?
No, it is not advised to put mascara on classic eyelash extensions. Lash extensions are a replacement for mascara. Putting mascara on your eyelash extensions will break down the adhesive bond and cause them to fall off pre-maturely. Mascaras are usually oil based which is something that should be avoided with lash extensions. It is also recommended that you do not rub your eyes with lash extensions which would make mascara difficult to remove.
Can you wear eyeliner with classic eyelash extensions?
Yes, you can wear eyeliner with classic eyelash extensions. Many eyeliners are typically formulated with oils, which is something that should be avoided with eyelash extensions. An oil-free, liquid eyeliner is recommended, and it must be thoroughly cleansed off at the end of the day to prevent product build up and premature shedding of your lash extensions.
Can you get classic eyelash extensions wet?
Yes, you can get classic eyelash extensions wet, and it is recommended to wait up to 24 hours. Luxe Esthetics by Darienne does apply a nano bonding product to the lashes after every full set and refill that allows you to get your lashes wet immediately, but it is still recommended to wait the 24 hours if able. After this period, classic eyelash extensions can get wet without repercussions. It is not recommended to expose lash extensions to prolonged periods of moisture, including saltwater pools.
Can you wear classic eyelash extensions with glasses?
Yes, classic eyelash extensions can be worn with glasses and contact lenses. Lash extensions are fully customizable based on the client’s desires. For clients with glasses, we recommend going with a shorter extension that has more curl so that they do not brush your glasses while blinking. For contact lenses, remove each lens out of your eye the same way you usually would prior to having them applied.
Do classic eyelash extensions ruin your natural lashes?
Classic eyelash extensions do not ruin your natural lashes. A quality set of lash extensions should always be applied by a certified and experienced lash artist. Paired with proper after care by the client, there will be absolutely no harm to your natural lashes.
What is the difference between classic lash extensions, hybrid lash extensions, and volume lash extensions?
The difference between classic lash extensions and volume lash extensions is the density and type of lashes used. Volume lash extensions use thinner extensions that are made into a fan of 3 to 15 lashes that is then applied to one individual natural lash. This technique is what makes volumes much denser than classic eyelash extensions and creates a more dramatic look. Hybrid eyelash extensions are a combination of both classic and volume lash extensions and have a “fluffy” look that can appear more natural or full depending on the ratio of classic to volume lash extensions that are applied.
