What are volume eyelash extensions?
Volume eyelash extensions, also known as Russian lash extensions, are handmade or pre-made fans of 3 to 15 lashes that are then attached to each individual natural eyelash to create length and volume. Volume lashes are very artistic and can be used to create an array of different looks to suit the clients needs.
What do volume eyelash extensions look like?
Volume eyelash extensions are full and dense, and they used to create a dramatic lash line. Volume lashes can be customized to create many different looks that can become a replacement for eye makeup all together.
How long do volume eyelash extensions last?
Volume eyelash extensions can last up to 3 weeks before needing a fill. It is recommended all clients book a fill every 2 or 3 weeks and this will vary from client to client based on how fast their natural lashes grow. Our natural lashes go through growth cycles and as the lash reaches its last cycle, it will shed, and a new natural lash will grow in. To maintain the look of your full set of volume eyelash extensions, you will need to be returning every 2-3 weeks to replace those lashes that have shed. Anything past 3 weeks is abnormal and is typically too long to wait for getting a volume lash extension fill.
How long do volume eyelash extensions take?
Volume lash extensions can have pre-made or handmade fans. Handmade fans take more time to make, meaning volume lashes take the most time to apply and is not a process that should be rushed so that it is executed properly. Volume eyelash extensions take approximately 3-3.5 hours to apply a full set and up to 2 hours for a fill.
How are volume eyelash extensions applied?
Volume eyelash extensions are applied by adhering a pre-made or handmade fan to an individual natural eyelash. The process is the same as any other set of eyelash extensions, but using a different type of lash.
FAQ
Can you put mascara on volume eyelash extensions?
No, it is not advised to put mascara on volume eyelash extensions. Lash extensions are a replacement for mascara. Putting mascara on your eyelash extensions will break down the adhesive bond and cause them to fall off pre-maturely. It is also recommended that you do not rub your eyes with lash extensions which would make mascara difficult to remove.

Do volume eyelash extensions ruin your real lashes?
Volume eyelash extensions do not ruin your natural lashes. With proper application by a certified and experienced lash artist and correct aftercare by the client, lash extensions shouldn’t cause any damage to the natural lashes.
What is the difference between classic lash extensions, hybrid lash extensions, and volume lash extensions?
The difference between classic lash extensions and volume lash extensions is the density and type of lashes used. Volume lash extensions use thinner extensions that are made into a fan of 3 to 20 lashes that is then applied to one individual natural lash. This technique is what makes volumes much denser than classic eyelash extensions and creates a more dramatic look. Hybrid eyelash extensions are a combination of both classic and volume lash extensions and have a “fluffy” look that can appear more natural or full depending on the ratio of classic to volume lash extensions that are applied.
